In honour of our mothers of Simon’s Town, we acknowledged them and the contributions that they have made to their community. We treated the Silverjare Seniors Club to a bash at the Simon’s Town Museum to celebrate the 50^th birthday of the club.

The Silverjare Seniors Club was established 50 years ago in Ocean View by a group of mothers who were originated from Simon’s Town. The group was formed as a form of social support for other mothers from Simon’s Town who lived in Ocean View after they had been forcefully removed. The membership of this group has been passed down from mother to daughter. The group continues to meet till this very day and continues to be active in the community.
